Turkish Meze with Mediha Kaya – SOLD OUT

Mediha Kaya loves to share the flavours of her favourite dishes from a childhood in Turkey – and her ways with Turkish regional cuisine have already won praise across the South with her supperclubs in Eastbourne, meal deliveries in Lewes and cookery classes in Sussex. Now she is bringing to the Community Kitchen a class in which she will share the regional Mediterranean cooking skills behind these successes.
Mediha will show you how to prepare a delicious meal, where you work in pairs creating three meze – the tasty small dishes typical of Turkish cookery.
You will make borek, little feta-filled puff pastry parcels; piyaz, a fresh-tasting salad of white beans, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and parsley, drizzled with olive oil, lemon and an amazing sumac sauce before being decorated with hard-boiled eggs; and şakşuka, deep-fried aubergines mixed with a tomato and pepper sauce.
Mediha will also bring a taster of the classic kofte for you to try alongside your meal and you will take the recipe home to try yourself.
Dietary information: The menu for this class is adaptable for vegetarian or vegan diets but this must be specified when booking. For any other allergies or dietary requirements, please contact us to discuss before booking.

Tickets for this event are £45 per person, or £40 (per person) when booking two or more tickets at once. We have a limited number of tickets available at a concession rate of £30 for those who are in receipt of a means-tested benefit, under-18s (must be accompanied by an adult), as well as full-time students. If available, these options will appear in the drop-down when purchasing your ticket.

Refund policy:
We offer a full refund if you change or cancel your place up to 14 days before your class. If you cancel between seven and 14 days before your class, we offer a 50% refund. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds when a place is cancelled less than seven days before the class is due to take place. Please note Eventbrite now has a policy of keeping the Eventbrite fees associated with a booking (roughly 6.5% of the total cost) even when a refund is made.
