The Old Green is a volunteer-run garden working with people of all ages from the local neighborhood. The group first came together to try to improve the space between Stanmer Park Road and Stanmer Villas that had become a dumping ground, and within the last couple of years, have transformed it into a beautiful community space and a flourishing garden.
As well as work days, the space is also used for community events such as carol singing at Christmas and story-telling at Halloween. They have also recently begun to fund and hold free workshops in 2023 – most recently a workshop on tree pruning.
