UKHarvest is a for-impact perishable food rescue operation, which collects quality excess food from commercial outlets and delivers it, direct and free of charge, to charities that support vulnerable people in West Sussex. Since our establishment in March 2017, we have built a strong foundation, drawing on support from our communities, local government and our Patron, HRH Duchess of Cornwall, to educate and nourish thousands of vulnerable people. We want to help thousands more, but we require financial support to realise this vision.
Our purpose is to Nourish Our Nation. We fulfil our purpose through a business model and core values that focus on our four pillars:
- Rescue excess food and deliver it to those in need;
- Educate communities, vulnerable and non-vulnerable alike;
- Engage with the corporate sector, communities and individuals;
- Innovate and revolutionize the way food is being rescued and used to support vulnerable people. We pride ourselves on our partnerships to innovatively tackle issues around malnutrition and waste.
