About this class

Felicity Cloake, the award-winning author of the Guardian’s long-running How to Make the Perfect recipe column, joins us at the Community Kitchen for a very special masterclass event.

felicity cloakeThis is your chance to learn new techniques and tried-and-tested recipes with an award-winning food writer & author. At this class, Felicity will share with you some of her favourite French dishes to impress – ideal for entertaining and dinner parties or just a special night in.

During the session you will work in pairs to create a typical menu which celebrates the heritage of French cuisine and the beginnings of spring ingredients:

  • Celeri remoulade with Bayonne ham and toasted walnuts
  • Petits pois à la française with crispy confit duck
  • Iles flottantes (‘Floating Island’ meringues in creme anglaise)

After you finish creating your dishes, Felicity will join you at the table, alongside a specially matched wine as you enjoy your meal at the end of the Masterclass.

About Felicity

Felicity Cloake is the award-winning author of the Guardian’s long-running How to Make the Perfect recipe column as well as five cookbooks, including the Andre Simon-shortlisted The A-Z of Eating, and two on food and travel. Her French culinary adventure on two wheels, One More Croissant for the Road, was a Sunday Times bestseller and a Radio Four Book of the Week and her latest, Red Sauce Brown Sauce: A British Breakfast Odyssey recently won the Fortnum and Mason Food Book of the Year award, and was shortlisted for a Guild of Food Writers award. She loves all things French, apart from andouillette.
