About this class

September Share: Sussex Reds from Saddlescombe Farm

Farmer Roly Puzey is working towards a regenerative agricultural system on the Saddlescombe farm. The pure bred  Sussex Cattle graze chalk grassland in a particular way, creating more efficient grass availability throughout the year. The land is better protected from extreme weather conditions and carbon dioxide is absorbed from the atmosphere and sequestered into the soil where it stays.  Roly’s gentle care and attention in animal rearing and nurturing the land, makes this some of the very best beef you can find in Sussex.

This collection will be part of the Saddlescombe Farm Heritage Open Day. Discover the Nature, Beauty and History of the South Downs at Saddlescombe Farm. Enjoy farm tours, traditional crafts, folk songs, archaeology, children’s games, craft market and much more!
