Vegan West African Feasts with Lerato Umah-Shaylor – SOLD OUT

Saturday 13th April 2019 - Saturday 13th April 2019
1:30 pm - 5:30 pm

About this class

lerato in food marketJoin chef, writer and African food devotee Lerato Umah-Shaylor on a West African adventure featuring wonderful produce from plantains to wondrous spices.

Lerato will welcome you with botanical cocktails of hibiscus flowers and prosecco served with canapés before sharing her secrets to cooking sumptuous plant-based feasts inspired by her African heritage.

Depending on seasonal and local availability, a typical menu will comprise a West African stew like groundnut stew or Senegalese Yassa, made with your own home-made roasted peanut (groundnut) butter, a jollof prepared using healthy British-grown quinoa as an alternative to rice, a whole roasted & spiced cauliflower and finished with a delicious plantain pie.

Bring your own bottle to enjoy with the feast at the end of this exciting hands-on class. The class is plant based and great for most diets, from beginners to experts, leaving you inspired to add African vibrancy into your cooking.

Previous participants said: “Brilliant course! Lerato is a fantastic tutor.” “I will try all of the new recipes, haven’t cooked west African before.”
