Oasis Community Shop is now open, run by Emmanuel Church. Free drinks & snacks and a friendly team are on hand to make guests feel comfortable. A Money Advice Plus advisor is in attendance to help with benefits, debt and other financial issues.
Who is it for? The community shop offers heavily discounted (rather than completely free) food, but with no referral required, and no limit on the number of visits. It is geared toward people who are struggling with the cost of living in the longer term.
Collection: The Community Shop has
a membership model. A six month membership will
cost £6. Each time you visit, you will be offered a £5 or £8 selection of food. The food will be worth at least double what you actually pay (compared to supermarket prices). Your first visit will be free of charge, so you can decide if you like it and want to sign up for a six month membership. Once you’re a member, you can visit every week, or just when you need to.
