All About Bao Buns with Kitchen Academy – SOLD OUT
About this class
If you’re unfamiliar with bao, think Taiwanese burgers, a name these Asian steamed buns sometimes go by. Then think again – because apart from being a filled-bun dish, that’s where the similarity ends.
In this session you will learn all you need to know about creating the most perfect, soft pillowy bao. Your chef Jethro will demonstrate how to make the dough before proving and shaping it.
You will work in pairs but everyone will learn techniques to make a range of bao shapes, such as the Japanese hirata bao (the sandwich), filled bao and the traditional Chinese snowball and create a choice of fillings to suit all tastes.
Expect to be fully hooked on these fluffy, super-tasty on-trend treats by the end of this session!
