Community Baking (Community Cookery)
About this class
Places are open to those living in social housing as well as older people living alone or with a health condition.
We share tasty recipes and tips for baking breads and cakes that impress, no previous skills required. Chef Emiliano will demonstrate essential skills and help you avoid common mistakes. In just a few hours you will create and takeaway a menu such as (examples):
- sodabread – quick and easy no fuss bread
- scones – baking staple and freeze well
- zesty lemon cupcakes – sponge making skills
Join us for a relaxing and friendly session and leave with new skills and inspiration.
Application instructions
Who can attend?
People who are able to participate independently and attend an in person cookery session. Attendees must be either social housing residents, on benefits, or older people living alone or with a health condition.
Places on this cookery class have been funded by Ageing Well Brighton & Hove and by Southern Housing Group.
Costs:
We ask for a suggested donation of £5 on the day of the class, payments can be made by cash or card.
If travel/ transport costs will be an issue for you, please contact us as we may be able to help.
To reserve your place:
All participants must apply for a space on this course in advance – we will contact you around two weeks before the class to confirm if your application has been successful.
