Loving Living Soil

Tuesday 14th February 2023 - Tuesday 14th February 2023
10:30 am - 12:30 pm

About this class

This Valentine’s day, explore all there is to love about living soil!

Join us at this in-person event to grow and share your knowledge about community composting. Brought to you by Food Use Places, a Big Lottery Climate Action Fund project.

Question time with soil guru Tom Daniell from Old Tree Soil

Tom is the founder of Old Tree Soil, on a mission to restore living, healthy soil through local community composting. He has 13 years of experience in community gardening and woodland management, and is passionate about soil testing techniques.

Can’t find the answer to your compost query on the FAQs page? Submit your burning questions for Tom with your Eventbrite booking and some will be answered on the day.

Guest speakers about Community Compost Schemes

Curious about how to set up a new scheme in your area? Or already composting and want to take it to the next level? A panel of community composters will share their experience getting started and how they get the best out of their food waste.

Stalls

There will be interactive stands to visit, including the opportunity to view your own soil under the microscope. If you’d like to see what life your compost holds, please carefully bring a small handful in a container. Samples will be looked at first come first served in the time available.
