Banana Chocolate Flapjacks

Instead of oat or granola, try these moist breakfast treats to fuel your morning.

Serves people

Method

Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

Grease a small square baking tin.

Put the butter, honey and sugar into the saucepan.

Turn on the hob to a low heat and heat gently until the sugar has dissolved stirring continuously with a wooden spoon.

Peel the bananas and mash in a bowl with the back of a spoon.

Add the raisins and oats.

Add the ingredients from the saucepan into the bowl and mix.

Press the mixture into the greased baking tin.

Bake for 35/40 minutes until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and leave to cool in the baking tin for 10/15 minutes.

Cut into portions with a spatula when completely cool, and remove.

75g butter (or oil spread)

2 tbsp of honey

25g soft brown sugar

2 bananas (or 1 apple grated)

50g raisins (or apricots, cranberries, coconut or chocolate chips)

180g oats

2 tbsp of cocoa powder

 

Chef Tips:

Substitute other chopped dried fruit for the raisins, if you like.

Try different combinations: apple, cinnamon and sultans. Coconut and chocolate.
