Easy Pancakes

Be Pancake Day ready with this super easy and fun recipe. Get your little helpers to give a hand with decorating and filling them before serving.

 

Serves 6 people

Method

  1. Put the plain flour, eggs, milk, sunflower or vegetable oil and a pinch of salt into a bowl or large jug, then whisk to a smooth batter.
  2. Set aside for 30 mins to rest if you have time, or start cooking straight away.
  3. Set a medium frying pan or crêpe pan over a medium heat and carefully wipe it with some oiled kitchen paper.
  4. When hot, cook your pancakes for 1 min on each side until golden, keeping them warm in a low oven as you go.

Ingredients

100g plain flour

2 large eggs

300ml milk

1 tbsp sunflower or vegetable oil, plus a little extra for frying

Now for the fun part – adding the filling! Get the kids involved for a great family activity.

Go for the classic with 1 tsp lemon juice and 1 tsp sugar or the more decadent choice with a dollop of chocolate spread paired with strawberries or bananas. Other toppings include whipped/squirty cream, nuts, seeds, fruit or even a savoury twist with bacon and scrambled eggs! Just roll up or fold in half and enjoy.
