Smoothie

A fantastically quick way to get some fruit and veggies in.

 

Serves 1 person

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients for the smoothie into a jug and blend well. Add more liquid until it reaches the desired consistency. Drink right away.

Ingredients

Soft fruit such as – banana, berries, mango, pineapple, kiwi, melon, apricots, peaches
Spoonful of yoghurt
Splash of milk, water or no added sugar fruit juice
Small handful of spinach
1-2 tbsp oats

You will need either a hand-held electric blender or a freestanding blender for this recipe.

Try to avoid using very hard fruits such as apples as these will not blend well.

Buy bags of frozen fruit and keep in the freezer for a budget friendly way to always have smoothie fruit to hand.

Use this recipe as a rough guide and then play around with different combinations of ingredients.
