Batch Cooking (Community Cookery) FULL
About this class
Places are open to those living in social housing, on benefits, as well as older people living alone or with a health condition.
This class will celebrate the benefits of batch cooking – to reduce meal costs, learn to cook wholesome healthy meals, spend just a few hours cooking for the whole week, minimise food waste and cut down the amount of packaging and plastic waste produced.
Cooking in pairs, our Community Cookery Leader Emiliano will show you how to batch cook and portion your meals so that they can be properly stored/frozen; allowing you to have a ready-cooked homemade dinner available whenever you need it.
A typical lesson will include:
- Meal planning for the whole week (ensuring that they are nutritious and balanced)
- A cooking session (batch cooking for the whole week)
- Preparing nutritious and tasty snacks (savoury and sweet)
Join us for a relaxing and friendly session and leave with new skills and inspiration.
