Join popular food writer, presenter, and retreat host Lerato Umah-Shaylor for a Moroccan feast filled with vibrant flavours and rich traditions. Lerato will show you how to become a master of spice and share amazing brunch recipes from her cookbook Africana and her Moroccan food tours.
Step into an enchanting riad in Marrakech—right from your kitchen in this hands-on class that will guide you through an irresistible brunch, from fluffy pancakes to spiced Berber delights.
Working in pairs we will create:
- Baghrir (honeycombed pancakes) – Light, airy Moroccan pancakes served with Lerato’s fragrant orange blossom syrup & cinnamon butter.
- Berber eggs/shakshuka – A bubbling skillet of spiced tomatoes with poached eggs.
- Berbere buns – Incredible fluffy buns stuffed with spiced mince- A delicious plant-based mushroom alternative is also available.
- Moroccan mint tea – Freshly brewed and the perfect companion to your pancakes.
