Old Spice cookery group (for those aged 65+)
About this class
Get excited about food with this five-week cookery course aimed at anyone over 65. Join us for fun, friendship and delicious shared food.
The emphasis here is on fun, friendship and supporting each other as we cook from scratch and develop more kitchen skills. Cooking and eating with others has been shown to have a positive effect on our mental health and wellbeing at any age.
The course will cover themes on making the most of leftovers and eating a well balanced and nutritious diet without compromising on flavour or spending a fortune. We will also explore how what we eat affects how we feel in a food and mood workshop. At the end of each session we will enjoy the food we have created together.
You’ll definitely leave with a more cookery confidence and bursting with ideas for delicious recipes to try at home.
We ask for a suggested donation of just £5 per week (total £25) to secure your place. Speak to us if cost is a barrier.
Who can apply?
- People over the age of 65
- We are particularly keen to involve those with long-term health conditions and those living on low incomes
